چکیده
In this paper we investigate an optimal investment and consumption problem for an investor who trades in a Black-Scholes financial market with stochastic coefficients driven by a non-Gaussian Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. We assume that an agent makes consumption and investment decisions based on a HARA utility function. By applying the usual separation method in the variables, we are faced with the problem of solving a non-linear (semilinear) first-order partial integro-differential equation. A candidate solution is derived via the Feynman-Kac representation. By using the properties of an operator, defined in a suitable functional space, we prove uniqueness and smoothness of the solution. Optimality is verified by applying a classical verification theorem. 2000 MSC Subject Classifications:

Optimal Investment and Consumption in a Black–scholes Market with Lévy-driven Stochastic Coefficients
In this paper, we investigate an optimal investment and consumption problem for an investor who trades in a Black–Scholes financial market with stochastic coefficients driven by a non-Gaussian Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process. We assume that an agent makes investment and consumption decisions based on a power utility function. By applying the usual separation method in the variables, we are faced wit...
متن کاملMerton’s Portfolio Optimization Problem in a Black & Scholes Market with Non-gaussian Stochastic Volatility of Ornstein-uhlenbeck Type
Abstract. We study Merton’s classical portfolio optimization problem for an investor who can trade in a risk-free bond and a stock. The goal of the investor is to allocate money so that her expected utility from terminal wealth is maximized. The special feature of the problem studied in this paper is the inclusion of stochastic volatility in the dynamics of the risky asset. The model we use is ...
متن کاملOptimal consumption and investment for markets with random coefficients
We consider an optimal investment and consumption problem for a Black-Scholes financial market with stochastic coefficients driven by a diffusion process. We assume that an agent makes consumption and investment decisions based on CRRA utility functions. The dynamical programming approach leads to an investigation of the Hamilton Jacobi Bellman (HJB) equation which is a highly non linear partia...
متن کاملNews-generated dependence and optimal portfolios for n stocks in a market of Barndor¤-Nielsen and Shephard type
We consider Mertons portfolio optimization problem in a Black and Scholes market with non-Gaussian stochastic volatility of Ornstein-Uhlenbeck type. The investor can trade in n stocks and a risk-free bond. We assume that the dependence between stocks lies in that they partly share the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes of the volatility. We refer to these as news processes, and interpret this as tha...
متن کاملAn Extension of the Black-Scholes and Margrabe Formulas to a Multiple Risk Economy
We consider an economic model with a deterministic money market account and a finite set of basic economic risks. The real-world prices of the risks are represented by continuous time stochastic processes satisfying a stochastic differential equation of diffusion type. For the simple class of log-normally distributed instantaneous rates of return, we construct an explicit state-price deflator. ...
